This design captures the left and right side the heart with the following anatomical features: mitral valve apparatus, left atrial appendage, aortic valve, left ventricle with trabeculae and papillary muscles, tricuspid valve apparatus, right atrial appendage, pulmonic valve, and right ventricle with trabeculae and papillary muscles. The left and right atria have been removed.
The flexible materials (hydrogel and silicone) are “beating” capable when integrated with a pulsatile pump.
